Roles
Your roles as a 'Flood Resilience Champion' are:
- To communicate with key individuals. These include local authorities, water management companies, and the local community- through phone calls, emails and meetings (in-person and online). This will involve reaching out to relevant individuals, organising meetings, and conducting minute-taking at these meetings to determine key points and actions.
- To create and host flood resilience events. This will involve careful planning, advertisement, and conduction of events. It will also involve management and coordination of volunteers at events, including delegation and provision of detailed instructions.
- To recruit further volunteers to become 'Flood Resilience Champions'. This will be conducted using social media, local news platforms, leaflet mail-drops and drop-in events at local community points.
- To assist the community before, during and after a flood (these roles are addressed later on).
